One laptop per child is a great program and I would love to see it take off. One laptop per child, or OLPC for short, is a non-profit association. OLPC's role is primarily to design and deliver a working prototype of these laptops as well as to broker agreements with various national governments and manufacturers. The idea is for every laptop purchased a child who is unable to afford such items around the world in developing countries will get one free. |

I had looked at some on-line applications awhile ago, like Writely a word processor that works via the web browser, but there were very few at the time. The boom with Ajax enabled Javascript toolkits and widgets has opened up a world I have been anticipating for awhile, web based gui applications. |

I have been playing with a lot of AJAX enabled Javascript toolkits lately, like Mochikit and Dojo, but they are uninteresting to me and just contain effects web designers have been doing for years in a more combined framework like fashion. Plex however is interesting to me for many reasons. |
