Windows to me is a bit drab by itself so here is a small list of free and lightweight apps that make Windows a little nicer, a little safer, and in some cases a little cooler. Being a Linux user these almost make Windows acceptable.

If your coming from Windows and enjoyed playing around with Fruityloops and the likes like me you may be interested in a couple of items listed here. This is more for those who want to just install something and start playing. I will walk you through building Wired though, which is an awesome Reason like application for Linux, or you can download the deb that I built. I wanted to write about these applications, because I find them to be exceptional and hope they get a lot of attention. |

Gambas - Gambas Almost Means Basic . I coded in Visual Basic for about a year five years ago and even wrote some small things in RealBasic on OS X a couple of years ago. I liked and hated Visual Basic all at the same time. I always wished it was more like Delphi or Kylix (Delphi for Linux, which is dead), because the Basic language sucks, but loved event driven programming for RAD gui applications. |
