Damn it people! My wife wants to do some video work and needs some background music, good luck finding it these days. Anyway, it really annoyed me that you really just can't find anything decent. We did find some okay sites that have some good content so I figure I'd share. First, if you want to check if a song is safe from, or not controlled by, the RIAA visit RIAA Radar.

Here are a few sites to visit if you are looking for some safe royalty music for a video project or whatever. There may be more...

If you're a devout Ubuntu loyalist but really dig the way Elive looks you can now have the best of both worlds! GEUbuntu was one that I had missed, but thanks to a friend at work I gave it a spin. Looks really awesome and I have alway been a fan of Enlightenment. I spent a good deal of time getting Ubuntu Studio the way I want it so I am not ready to ditch it yet, but when I decide to reload again, GEUbuntu will be top on my list.

I must mention these as I found these to be really nice. If you are looking for some really kick ass Ubuntu, Ubuntu Satanic Edition , and Ubuntu studio 3-D screen savers you will love these, Eternity Screensavers! There are also some nice wallpapers there as well.

Enjoy!

I have been running Kubuntu or Ubuntu as my main OS for sometime and even run a 64bit Kubuntu 7.10 at work. So far I have been very impressed with the progress and have had many great experiences with them, but 7.10 left me unimpressed - long boot up time for both Ubuntu and Kubuntu on my home system as well as some other minor problems, including sometimes just hanging on startup indefinitely. 7.04 ran so great that I figured life would be good from then on out, at least until my hardware aged to a point of no return, but I was wrong.  Also, the fact that multimedia setup changed again left me just thinking, WTF? I shouldn't have to relearn the trivial things every release!

During the chaos I call my life I did get a chance to install and play around with two really nice BSD Unix operating systems. If you are familiar with Linux then Unix isn't too much of a change, but the big releases, like NetBSD , OpenBSD , and FreeBSD can be a major pain to install for new users. If you are not aware, FreeBSD is what Apple's Macintosh OS X operating system is built from.

It's has been a very hectic couple of months! My wife and I started remodeling one of the rooms in our home when all hell broke loose. This has left me very limited on time, but I did find a cool application I found worth while if you want to put video on your iPhone or iPod touch, and possibly other devices. It integrates with iTunes allowing you to sync the video to your device once the conversion is complete, which really makes it convenient.

After listening to some pod casts and reading news about music on the internet I have to wonder why this topic is so over analyzed. Honestly we think the internet has changed the way we think about music and the music industry, but it really hasn't changed it that much at all.
