What is Dark Artistry? PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 25 November 2006
Dark Artistry is just a site of, or rather, a collection of things I hold an interest in.

I am a digital artist who has worked with computers for many years. I am a supporter of the open source community and try to show people what's available to them to be creative and productive, rather than focusing on spending money and worrying about that next great release of software. I also like to help people and will have tutorials and other types of help available. I limit this because there is already a lot of help available on the Internet by simply searching Google, but for those things that are hard to find, that I run into, I will try and post solutions in a clear and concise way.

I also keep tabs on open software and use Linux , an alternate Operating System to Windows and Mac OS X, where a lot of open source software comes from.  I will have ratings for the open software I use, as well as some commercial products, so that people considering using these open or free products will not only be able to find them, but will also have an idea of how well the software works and if it is even worth the time for them to try.

If you're curious about me you can contact me, I don't mind e-mail or answering questions. My name is Charles Nichols, Mohawke, and I have two children and the most wonderful wife and family. I work as a Python programmer doing systems and web programming + web development with Javascript/Flash, which is what it is, a need for money. I'd prefer doing art full time, but starting my career early may award me that pleasure with a pension.

I see things in their most basic forms and from a logical point of view so do not contact me about religion as I do not see a place for it and find it offensive in most cases. From the theme you may ask if I am goth and to answer that I'd have to say maybe a little, but I don't really place myself into groups as they mostly offend me as well. I guess I would fit more into that description than any other considering I do like dark things and prefer to be a little eccentric; although, the meanings in my art reflect the darkness of our world more than a perverted lust for evil.
