This blew me away, a Windows installer and uninstaller for Linux! Back in the day BeOS could be installed and ran right from Windows, but LiveCD took over the need allowing users to try before committing a foriegn OS to hard disk. But, what about people that are willing to install, but are concerned about their Windows installation and never click the Install icon in the LiveCD? Problem solved, Ubuntu or Kubuntu Linux now has an installer called Wubi.
Download Wubi and click the executable like any other Windows installer. The installer will setup your user profile info and the size of space on disk you are willing to give to Linux. It then downloads the ISO and installs Linux dual booting with Windows. Reboot and select your newly installed Linux OS! If you decide you no longer want Linux on your system go to the Linux folder under C: drive in Windows and click uninstall. To get started download the Wubi installer from here |
