Top Ten Firefox 2 Extensions PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 01 December 2006

I love Firefox on it's own, but the other reason I love this browser, besides the obvious, are the extensions. I use many, but these are extensions I can no longer live without. These in my opinion are the best of the best.

10. Fasterfox
Speed up Firefox! I think Firefox is pretty fast on it's own, but this does help and keeps you out of the config trying to remember were and and what to tweek.

9. DownThemAll
Awesome download manager with acceleration. You can pause and resume downloads or download everything on a page at once.

8. Wizz RSS Reader
Great RSS/Atom news reader.

7. Web Developer
I have used this sicne it was created and it always makes my top list! Don't let the name fool you, it can give you great information on web pages as well as aid in development. It's an all around useful and well done extension.

6. Fox Lingo
If you travel a lot on the internet and get tired of hitting translation sites this will more than do the job for you. Very customizable and has a lot of features.

5. Tabbrowser Preferences
Tab browser is great, but lacking in it's settings, this rids you of that limitation.

4. Performancing
Really nice blog client. I must be honest, it is rough around the edges, but I use it often and for most of my blogs, like Live Journal, Blogger, Wordpress, etc. There is also a plug-in so you can post to your MySpace blog.

3. FireFTP
If you use FTP a lot this is the perfect extension for you. Open a powerful FTP program in a tab and away you go. I use this often and have found it to be very stable and fast.

2. Adblock Plus
Tired of ads all over the place? Get rid of them or control what you see. Speeds up page loads and unclutters pages. The greatest part of Adblock Plus is that you have total control over everything.

  finally, the winner for 2006!

1. Foxmarks
Foxmarks has to be the greatest extension to date. Sync your bookmarks with no involvment from you, works silently in the background. It's a must have if you constantly load new operating systems or move around to different machines a lot. Never lose a bookmark again.
