If you have clicked into software on the menu you will know that I maintain a list of software. Well last night and today I noticed my counter going off the charts. All I could find was something on Digg, like my list made the front page or some shit.

So I go in to read the comments on Digg and as as usual I am presented with negitivity or down right stupid humans. Yes, STUPID.

Some people are bitching because there are no Linux apps listed. What the f***? I have used Linux for years and never needed any list. Do these individuals even know how to use Linux? Open the package manager for whatever distro you are using, find what you want and install it. If you want stuff not in the repositories or cd for your distro type it in Google. My list states it's a Windows and OS X list, because finding GPL software for these platforms was difficult back in the day. If you want pure GPL look at the GPL list I placed in web-sites!

If people would read the "READ ME FOR INFORMATION AND DETAILS ON THIS LIST" they would realize this was a resource for me to find these hard to find applications before the likes of on-line bookmark sites where invented. Yes this list os old! I only put it out for me and those who are not interested in doing the research that I was willing to do. I have literally installed, used, tested, compiled, and searched hard on the net to compile this list! I hand write everything on this page, other than a little PHP for the tables, javascript for the hidden read me, and the Mochikit hack for the sort - everything else is pure html.

People can't find things on the page that exist and have been there for a long time, they bitch that it isn't categorized. How much more do they need? The sort link on the table headings in blinking bright yellow text and columns broke down by lead developer? Damn, I list by name, description, license, and even category for Christ's sake! I also suggest using the search feature built into most modern browsers, should I make a search box so I can reinvent the wheel or should I ask Firefox to remove the search feature in their browser because people do not know how to use it?

They also bitch about hat fact that there are some commercial applications listed. Yes, some of these are free for personal use, or simply cheap, but I clearly separate what is pay and what is freeware people. My title doesn't list them because they are not in the main tables, they are simply cheap alternatives that I have bought and liked, get over it.

This has pissed me off enough that I am considering taking the list down. I am not going to manage this shit if all people are going to do is bitch. I have everything on Foxmarks so I really don't have to give a shit. Go ahead and find them yourselves.

I bet if I stood on the street and handed money out for nothing people would bitch that it wasn't enough, that the money is dirty, or that my money isn't as good as Canada's money. Annoying!
